IELTS Academic

Section 1 - Graph or Diagram

In the first section you will need to describe, summarise or explain a graph, diagram or process.You should spend only 20 minutes on this task. Write at least 150 words.

Section 2 - Write an Essay

Second section is an essay question. You will have to write a response to the question giving reasons and examples to support your answer. The topics are general interest. You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write at least 250 words.

 

IELTS General Training

Section 1 - Graph or Diagram

In this section of the general training candidate has to write a letter. Candidate will be getting a scenario and he/she needs to write a letter explaining the situation or asking for information. Candidates should write at least 150 words. They do not need to write any addresses on the letter

 The letter may be any one of the following: 

  1. Semi-Formal
  2. Formal
  3. Personal

Section 2 - Write an Essay

Second section is an essay question similar to the Academic essay section. Candidates have to write a response to the question giving reasons and examples to support your answer. The topics are of general interest. The essays are more inclined towards personal style than for the academic essay. Candidates should spend about 40 minutes on this section and write at least 250 words.
